Brief Overview:

An exciting opportunity for an apprentice to work alongside qualified technicians where you will be fully trained in all aspects of maintenance and repair of light vehicles from routine servicing to electrical fault diagnostics.

Working Towards:

Not only will Apprentices be working and be trained within the garage they will attend a Ford approved college four times a year for two week periods to work towards to achieve their Ford Masters Technical Certificate at VRQ Level 2 and/or 3. An advisor will visit at least every 6-8 weeks as part of a close support network to ensure that Apprentices are both enjoying and succeeding in their course. An Apprentice’s training includes:

  • Industry recognised framework qualification.
  • Functional Skills (ICT, Maths and English).
  • VRQ Level 2 and/or Level 3.
  • Vocational related qualification (technical certificate).
  • Ford Masters Level 1 technician modules.

Apprentice HGV Technician

Brief Overview: The dedicated 3 year Advanced Heavy Vehicle programme gives emphasis to electronics, diagnosis and computer management systems. All aspects of heavy vehicle technology are embedded throughout the programme. Majority of your time will be spent in the depot gaining hands-on experience and on the job training, under the guidance of a trained mentor.
Wage:  £156.00
Working Hours:  To start with the hours of work would be Monday to Friday 8:30am until 5pm.

Location:  Altofts Lane, Wakefield Europort, Castleford, WF10 5UB
Working Towards:  

A Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in heavy vehicle service and maintenance lasting 3 years.

Training will be through Stephenson College based in Coalville, Leicestershire where apprentices will be required to attend on a block release basis every 6 weeks. Accommodation and travel cost will be covered.
