Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, between 8.00 am – 5.00 pm, shifts to be confirmed.

Working Towards:

Leeds City College will support and coach the apprentice through the apprenticeship framework. We will carry out both curriculum and pastoral care. We will carry out the skills development workshop days off site. We will oversee the teaching and learning around the knowledge, behaviours and skills elements of the framework, outlined below. We will manage the apprentice’s OneFile account ensuring targets, milestones and deadlines are achieved.

College Attendance

  • Day release every week
  • For ICT Functional Skills training and exams as required

Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical Pathway)

As part of this qualification the learner is required to complete 3 mandatory units plus 3 technically specific Performing Engineering Operations level 2 units.

  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques
  • Preparing and using lathes for turning operations
  • Preparing and using milling machines

Mandatory units plus 3 technically specific Performing Engineering Operations level 2 units.

Technical Certificate BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering.

Other off the job training will be monitored through the one file, Practical training, shadowing, mentoring, industry visits. Learning support and time spent writing assessments/assignments will also be coached and monitored.
