Job Description:  

What you will do in your working day

You will be working outdoors in all weathers as part of our ranger teams, supporting our strategy to restore a healthy, beautiful, natural environment. Your role will be:

  • Working to protect and improve the health and wildlife richness of our countryside
  • Preserving all the benefits we get from it
  • Helping our visitors to experience and get closer to the conservation of our special outdoor places
Desired Skills:  Communication skills, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills
Personal Qualities:  Team working, Initiative, Patience, Physical fitness
Desired Qualifications:  

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade E/2) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade E/2) Essential

Things to Consider:  

Working alongside your mentor on tasks specific to your Apprenticeship, you will develop the skills & knowledge relevant to this Apprenticeship Standard (Countryside worker Apprenticeship Level 2).

Your training will be delivered via a combination of mandatory week-long college blocks (based at Bishop Burton College) and online learning.

Expected duration of apprenticeship is 18 months.
