Electrical Fitter Apprenticeship

Brief Overview:

The purpose of an electrical fitter is to produce complex high-value, low volume components of assemblies in full or in part, using machines, equipment or systems to the required specification. This translates to the manufacture of electrical control panels for customers (Heating and Ventilation, distributed power, leisure & process automation.)

Weekly Wage:

£236.25

Working Hours:

8.00am - 4.00pm, Days to be confirmed.

Total hours per week: 37.50

Working Towards:

Training will be provided in first and second year of their apprenticeship programme in either Hull or Scunthorpe by HETA.

The training starts in August. The apprentice will undertake at first a block release training programme at the HETA training centre followed by day release as the apprenticeship progresses. 

They will be trained on the following areas:

  • Basic Electrical Maintenance
  • Electrical wiring & Testing
  • Advanced Electrical Maintenance
  • PLC
  • Instrumentation
  • Level 3 Engineering Fitter Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths and English if required

You will have your own personal tutor that will complete regular reviews with you, setting targets and discussing your progress. Your tutor will be in regular contact with your employer to support them throughout the apprenticeship.
