Loading Systems Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

Brief Overview: To learn the trade of Loading Systems Maintenance Engineer by efficiently assisting and following direction from a Lead Loading Systems Engineer/ Technician. Undertaking duties as requested by the Lead Engineer.

Working Towards:  
  • You will study the practical skills required for completing NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations (Mechanical Engineering).  Alongside this you will gain the Diploma in Engineering Technology (Maintenance Engineering) and study Employee Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills in English and maths
  • Maths and English (and sometimes IT) are key elements of apprenticeship programmes and if you do not already have a GCSE at grade A*-C in these subjects you will be required to study Functional Skills at the appropriate levels
  • Skills in maths and English will support your apprenticeship programme, assisting you with assignment writing, research, job applications, presentations, managing your own finances and interpretation of data, to mention just a few. They will also help you in the future. Most employers are looking for ability in these areas and the majority of university courses require you to have maths and English GCSEs at A*-C/9-4.  This is why the development of maths and English is so important, whatever your field of study
  • The NVQ Level 2 qualifies you to undertake a craftsman role within engineering and progression on to Level 3 Advanced qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
