Admin/Reception Apprentice (Level 3)

Job Description:

The post holder will be required to assist in the provision of an efficient administration service and reception service. Full apprenticeship and role training will be provided for this exciting new position in this fast-moving practice. 
Duties of the post: 

General Office:

  • Working in the admin office within the staff team on a rotation basis, under the guidance of the Office Manager
  • Logging a variety of information into patient records on computer and operating various computer systems
  • Call Handling/Patient Appointment Requests
  • Scanning incoming correspondence into patient records, using the in house scanning system (training will be provided)

Reception/appointments desk:

  • Working on reception and handling all patient enquiries as first line of contact
  • Logging patient arrivals, booking appointments and utilising the full range of services provided with the electronic appointments system (training will be provided)
  • Coding

Basic prescriptions administration: 

  • The practice operates an electronic prescription system. The prescriptions requests are received continually and must be processed within two working days. It is expected that every member of the administration team are trained to use the system at a basic level in the first instance. Some may develop their skills further and be called upon to cover during other staff absences.

Dispensation of prescriptions:

  • You will be required to assist with the dispensing of prescriptions as required
  • This list is not exhaustive and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the manager which are relevant to your role within the company to meet the overall business needs
  • Wage will be reviewed on a performance basis

  • A DBS check will be undertaken upon the offer of an apprenticeship
  • Check you can travel to the place of work on a daily basis
  • Wage will be reviewed on a performance basis
